Venezia
- Venezia have won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five games.
- Giovanni Stroppa has overseen Venezia since 1 July 2025 and his side are set up in a 3-5-2 or 3-4-1-2 that has produced some fine results this term.
- They are a wing-back-heavy set up with the ball and their pressing game is designed to get the ball forward quickly via direct vertical passes.
- Venezia have won seven, drawn two and lost just one of their last 10 in all competitions, and they appear to be getting in some sharpness.
- They have averaged 3.80 goals for per home game in all competitions, scoring 19 in Venice, so they have been getting the job done in front of goal.
Lecce
- Eusebio Di Francesco, who took charge on 26 June 2025, prefers a 4-3-3 system which also relies on the width of his wingers to stretch the game as well as plenty of pressing and pace in transition.
- Lecce have also had a positive run of games recently with five wins, three draws and two defeats across their last 10 in all competitions, although the last five have been a little less impressive than Venezia's.
- Their away numbers are also tidy with an average of 1.50 goals scored and 0.75 conceded per game which has kept them in games away from home.
- A run of three wins and a draw from four away trips in all competitions has given Lecce a lot of confidence ahead of this season and they could cause problems for the home side in this opener.
- Lecce have won three, drawn one and lost none of their last four away from home.
Head-to-Head
Lecce lead the head-to-head record, with one win and one draw in the last two meetings, but Venezia have failed to beat Lecce in their most recent home clash, so there is a spice to this matchup.
Betting Insights
- The market has it right with Venezia the 2.32 favorites, although the other two options, Lecce at 3.1 and the draw at 3.15, have some value.
- The tempting option is 'both teams to score' at 1.9, however, which seems a great fit between two sides built to press and hit on the break.
Prediction
There is just enough edge to favor the hosts and we will take that, but we're going to keep it close for the time being.
