Plzen
- FC Viktoria Plzen come into this game fresh off the back of a 5-1 extra time win over FK Red Star Belgrade in UEFA Europa League Qualification 2026, which was followed by a 3-0 league win away at SK Artis Brno.
- Radoslav Kovac's side have finally found some rhythm and they'll be looking to continue that momentum when they welcome SK Sigma Olomouc to Doosan Arena, Czechia on Sunday.
- Kovac's Viktorka like to play a 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-1-1 formation where they can play out wide and press aggressively in order to smother the opposition in the final third.
- Plzen have conceded seven goals at home (1.75 per match) so there is enough to keep Sigma interested in this game.
- However, their record in 1. Liga 2026/2027 at home is much less convincing, with one win, two draws and one loss, so it's hardly been an easy base for Plzen.
Sigma
- SK Sigma Olomouc will be no walkover for the hosts on Sunday as Pavel Hapal's side have also found some momentum of late, with four wins and just one loss across their last five.
- Hapal has his men playing with discipline and structure, while his 3-at-the-back set up is a compact shape that looks to cut off the central channels and build up from the rear in a controlled manner.
- Sigma's away form in 1. Liga 2026/2027 has seen them win two and lose two from four, so the Hanáci can take the sting out of Plzen on their travels, but they don't have enough to see off Viktorka with any consistency.
Head-to-Head
Plzen won in the last two H2H encounters, most recently a 2-1 away win in 1. Liga 2025/2026 six months ago.
Key Players
- Christophe Kabongo has bagged three goals in five games in 1. Liga 2026/2027, making him Viktorka's most deadly player.
- The visitors have scored ten times in their last five and Peter Barath has three of those, so he will be the man to watch.
Betting Insights
- At 1.62, Plzen are the clear favourites, but Sigma come into this one fourth in the table, a place ahead of the home side.
- Both teams to score is another option at 1.63, while over 2.5 goals at 1.62 also appeals.
Prediction
Given the two sides approach the game in very different ways, this could be a real chess game between two quality sides, so we'll be taking the draw at 4.05 .
