Head-to-Head
- Atalanta Bergamo have won the last five head-to-head meetings.
- Genoa have won just four of their 16 away games.
Atalanta (home)
- The league positions of Atalanta Bergamo and Genoa heading into Saturday’s late kick-off in Serie A 2025-2026 reflect the strength of the two clubs pretty well with Atalanta in seventh place on 54 points from 34 matches and Genoa 14th with 39.
- Atalanta have won each of the last five meetings between the clubs and look well placed to take all the points here with their home record much stronger than Genoa’s away.
- The hosts have won nine of their 17 at the Gewiss Stadium, drawing five and losing only three, although back-to-back defeats, including a 3-2 loss at Cagliari in Serie A and a penalty shootout exit to Lazio in the Coppa Italia, suggests they have fallen off the boil a little.
- Raffaele Palladino has done a great job with Atalanta since taking over in November 2025 and has retained the identity of the 3-4-1-2 system - attack first, high wing-backs and plenty of pressing to force turnovers.
Genoa (away)
- Daniele De Rossi’s 3-4-1-2 is much more direct and wing-centric, with the wingers getting forward quickly to provide width and the ball moved on after the turnover rather than the ball being circulated to create positional superiority.
- La Rossoblu have a different record to Atalanta in terms of recent wins and defeats, taking two victories and three defeats from their last five in all competitions, and enter this off the back of a 2-1 away win at Pisa followed two days later by a 2-0 home defeat to Como.
- Genoa have conceded 24 goals in 16 away Serie A games this term and there is a good chance Atalanta, who have one of the best scoring records in Serie A, can get plenty of chances to punish them.
Key Players
Gianluca Scamacca has been the focal point of La Dea’s attack with ten goals in 22 league games , but they can score from anywhere and this should be a goal-filled game.
