Falkirk (Home)
The Bairns have won, drawn and lost twice in their last five games in all competitions and their form has been solid but uninspiring of late - with a 1-1 draw at Dundee United, a 2-1 home win over Hearts and a 1-1 draw at St. Johnstone coming in the last fortnight.
Dundee (Away)
- Dundee FC have ten points after seven games and sit fourth in the table on ten points, so Dark Blues boss Steven Pressley, who took over on 2 June 2025, has seen a much better return so far in the season.
- But the visitors have not been in great form either with two wins, a draw and two defeats in their last five, although their most recent games have been much better than their first two in the league - 1-1 at St. Johnstone, 2-1 loss at Hearts and 2-1 win at home to Motherwell.
Head-to-Head
Falkirk have won two of the last three meetings, including a 1-0 victory in this home-and-home series in the Scottish Premiership 2025/2026.
Key Players
- Both teams are set up to play in a 4-2-3-1 formation, although the hosts build through midfield and the flanks with their wide midfielders and number ten operating in front of a two-man central midfield, while the visitors have a bit more vertical speed and width to them.
- Falkirk's top scorer is Ben Krauhaus with one goal in six Premiership 2026/2027 appearances, but the real spark has come from Ryan Strain, who has three assists in seven and has created three of Falkirk's last four goals in his last five appearances.
- Joe Westley has been Dundee's main man in the box with three goals in seven Premiership 2026/2027 matches, so the Dark Blues should have more of a threat in front of goal than the home side.
Betting Insights
- Falkirk are a shade favorite at 2.02, but we are taking Dundee at 3.4 and the tie at 3.6, although both teams to score looks a bit short at 1.67 and we're not keen to bet on Over 2.5 goals at 1.8 when there are likely to be only a couple of goals in this one.
- Neither team have been prolific in the attacking third so it is more likely to be won by a pressing game, transition play and an overload on the flanks than a chess match in the center of the field.
Prediction
- The home-to-head advantage and Dundee's mixed away form means this should be a tight game with the Bairns just edging the win and the draw also possible if they can't force their way through.
- There's not going to be a goalfest, but it could be a tense battle.
- Expect the match to be decided by pressing, quick transitions and chances created down the flanks rather than a high-scoring affair.
